On January 1, 2013, Armstrong Dermatology, Dermatology Specialists of West Florida, Florida Westcoast Skin & Cancer Center and Kelleher Dermatology merged to form “Florida Dermatology and Skin Cancer Specialists, PL.” We offer 6 convenient locations in the Greater Tampa Bay area including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Seminole, Tampa and Dade City.
Armstrong Dermatology and Dermatology Specialists of West Florida was founded by Frank T. Armstrong, D.O. with the vision of creating a medical practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. The staff is highly-trained and exceptionally friendly. Dermatologist, Frank T. Armstrong, D.O. is a highly recognized long standing member of the medical community in Pinellas County, Florida. Although he is dually trained in dermatology and internal medicine, his practice is focused in dermatology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the skin, hair and nails. He did complete residencies and passed board exams in both internal medicine and dermatology. Dr. Armstrong received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. He then earned a degree in Nuclear Medicine at Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts.
He received his Medical Degree from the University of New England - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine where he graduated with honors and also received the esteemed “Graduate with Distinction” award which is bestowed upon the one graduate the medical school faculty feels “possesses those qualities the faculty would seek in their family physician”. Dr. Armstrong completed his Internal Medicine residency at the St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts and is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Armstrong trained in Dermatology at the Sun Coast Hospital/Nova Southeastern University in Largo, Florida, where he now is a Clinical Instructor for the Dermatology Residency Program. As Co-Chief Resident at the Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida, Dr. Armstrong earned the Koprince Lecture Award, the Connetics Resident Examination Award and was voted Resident Liaison by his colleagues.

Dr. Margaret Kelleher, MD, FAAD treats adults and children of all ages. From rashes to melanoma, she is equipped to handle all your dermatological needs. Dr. Kelleher is on staff at many hospitals in the bay area: Bayfront Hospital, All Childrens Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. She is a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee and Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Upon completion of an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, she served as a clinical instructor of medicine at the same institution and at the associated Veteran's Administration Hospital. She furthered her training at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg where she completed a fellowship year in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. In this position she was responsible for the daily management of allergic, immune suppressed, and bone-marrow transplant patients, both children and adult. Dr. Kelleher returned to Hahnemann University to serve her Dermatology residency where she was chosen as Chief Resident for her final year. During her residency, Dr. Kelleher received training in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She cares for patients with all dermatologic concerns and continues to have a special interest in allergic and immune system related conditions.

Dr. Michael A. Scannon, MD is a Board Certified Dermatologist that has been in practice since January 1982 in Tampa and Dade City Florida. Dr. Scannon received his training from Emory University, Department of Dermatology and at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine in Internal Medicine. He is a member of the prestigious Noah Worchester Dermatological Society, American Academy of Dermatology, Hillsborough County Medical Association, Florida Society of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the Photomedicine Society to name just a few. He is also the Medical Director of the west coast chapter of the National Psoriasis Foundation and Affiliate Associate Professor for the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. Dr. Scannon offers a wide variety of treatment options for psoriasis patients including Light-box therapy, X-trac laser and biologic therapy. He also participates in various Research Studies for psoriasis. In his offices located in Tampa and Dade City, Florida he offers Radiation therapy as a treatment option for patients with superficial skin cancers.
